Anyone on here have any NWOBHM on vinyl?

If so, what do you have?

Mike and Claret, my mate was the original guitarist in Angelwitch. Rob Downing. He's definitely got the Metal for Muthas vinyl. Shit! palace just scored!

Mike

Yeah it was the Brabbs brothers in Tank when I saw them.

Bruce Bisland was the drummer in 'The Wandering Crutchlees' with Tino Troy of Praying Mantis, Mal McNulty (now singing with Slade), and Jeff Brown (Sweet/Statetrooper).

They used to play pub gigs mostly in West London when they weren't working in their 'main' bands. They were always pissed and were totally brilliant.

Four really talented guys that could do it so easily I was really jealous. We supported them several times and I also used to go and see them whenever they were playing, which was sometimes a few times a week.

Bruce's rendition of 'Old Shep' was worth going for alone! :)

Which drummer was that? Surely not Bruce Bisland who I used to know well back in the day..

Always thought Tank were a bit unfairly treated. I saw them support Motorhead on the Iron Fist tour, (3 nights), and they were OK, but they seemed to get a hard time from most Motorhead fans, perhaps because Algy was seen as a punk?

I seem to remember that the guitarist and drummer were brothers back then, maybe even twins?

Does anyone have Lightning to the Nations on vinyl? Never been able to find it anywhere apart from a £175 private press edition on ebay.

Re: NWOBHM vinyl
If anyone digs out their collection I'd love to see what's in it.

When I was 10-12 years old there was this little import record shop in a suburb outside of San Francisco. Bizarre that it was not in SF itself, but my brother and I would get down there as often a possible and look through all the NWOBHM stuff - which was just like this magic music from another world to us. Being as young as I was, I really only bought Maiden, Saxon, and Raven stuff occasionally.

Doesn't surprise me really. I think they were one of those bands (like Mythra) who wouldn't have had a sniff of success if NWOBHM hadn't taken off, and for a while record companies were desperate to sign any band that looked and sounded even a little bit like Maiden.

I had 'Give 'Em Hell' which I think I liked at the time, but I would hesitate to listen to it now!

Re: NWOBHM vinyl
Very nice Bungo.

Only one I am not familiar with is Mythra, but it sounds like I am not missing anything.

Envious of the Angelwitch and Praying Mantis on vinyl.

Getting close to starting to add to what I have via discogs, etc., but I still blanch at the prices.
